Prepping the Kite
- The bag with the asymmetrical spinnaker needs to be attached with the bag clips to the safety line running close to the hull on the side it is supposed to be hoisted on.
- The TACK of the sail must be facing towards the Bow (front of the boat)
- The spin sheets are run as displayed in the image and are attached to the CLEW of the sail. The spin sheets must run outside the shrouds and in front of the forestay.
- The tack line must be run outside the shrouds.
- The spinnaker halyard can be attached to the HEAD of the spinnaker and then temporarily secured to the nearest shroud with a single loop of electrical tape
- The bag shall only be closed by the Velcro straps – no knots
Pro Tip: if it is unclear on which side the Spinnaker will be raised, it is possible to tie together the halyard, sheets and tack line and move it around to the designated position by pulling on the opposing sides Spinnaker sheet. This will move all lines to the other side of the boat without the need to step onto the bow deck.
Raising the Kite
- Verify that the Kite is properly prepped and all lines are outside the shrouds.
- Loosen the halyard tape and ensure that the bag is open
- As the kite is raised midship the halyard goes up first and only when it is up all the way the tack line is pulled to bring the spinnaker into position
- The halyard is ideally „jumped“ by a bowman and followed by a second crewmember behind the cleat
Lowering the Kite
- Two crewmembers are ideally assigned to pull in the kite when lowering it
- As the Kite is brought in mid ship the tack line is popped first and then the halyard is lowered in a controlled fashion to allow the crew to bag the Spinnaker without moistening it
- If the kite is not to be reused on the current journey, the halyard can be detached to reduce the risk of an unintended kite inflation and attached to the nearest shroud, tightened and cleated.
Mooring
- The Boats mooring is numbered 105 and is located right in from of the brightly illuminated estate on the waterfront.

When the boat was picked up the vendor tried to bring the manual, but it was too late. So please find here the crowdsourced version of the manual.
